Implementing the Canada Infrastructure Bank

Glenn Campbell
Executive Director, Canada Infrastructure Bank Transition Office
Infrastructure Canada

Our Topic

Many policy studies have indicated the strong need for additional public infrastructure in Canada. In the Fall Economic Statement, the government announced  that it   was "launching the new Canada Infrastructure Bank to provide innovative funding and financing for infrastructure projects and help more projects get built in Canada. The Canada Infrastructure Bank will be responsible for investing at least $35 billion from the federal government into large infrastructure projects that contribute to economic growth through loans, loan guarantees and equity investments."  TABE is excited to have Glenn Campbell, the Executive Director of the new initiative to lead us through the plan and progress.

Our Speaker

Glenn was recently appointed as Executive Director of the Canada Infrastructure Bank Transition Office, at Infrastructure Canada, responsible for establishing the proposed Crown Corporation.  Previously he was Director, Financial Institutions, at Finance Canada where he was responsible for a range of financial sector policy areas, including; banks and insurance companies, as well as financial services trade and investment regime, competition, ownership and consumer policy frameworks, as well as advising on ministerial approvals of industry transactions and restructurings.
