Join the Manitoba Association for Business Economics (MABE) on April 27th at noon to hear Winnipeg Airports Authority (WAA) President and CEO Barry Rempel discuss how WAA is using the airport campus to help drive our provincial economy.
Barry Rempel has served as President and CEO of WAA since April 2002, stewarding central Canada’s airport campus transformation. Home to tenants such as Greyhound, Canada Post, General Electric and more, the broader WAA campus and cargo facilities thrives as the core of Winnipeg’s growing Airport City.
Barry has a long serving career in aviation, with over 37 years of experience in the field. Prior to joining Winnipeg Airports Authority, Barry was President and CEO of Tradeparks Development Corp., Calgary Airport Authority’s land/business development subsidiary. He has also served as Chief Executive for two Canadian Airlines International operating divisions, Cargo and Canadian North.
Barry believes in serving community and is a Director, and past Director, of many organizations. Currently, he serves as a Director of Canadian Airports Council and SRG Security Resource Group, in addition to the Churchill Transportation Inc. and Compass Transportation Consulting. As well, Barry is a member of Airports Council International, North America, and is a member of the Business Council of Manitoba, where he is Chair of the Northern Task Force.
