Presentation skills are essential for students and young professionals to stand out and get ahead, and the skill to tell a story and visualize data effectively is important to thrive in an economics career. Do you know how to get your point across and give informative and engaging presentations? Are you able to communicate in a clear and concise manner? Do you know how to capture your audience within the first few seconds of your presentation? Can you read the room and tailor your message to your audience? To learn strategies and tips for giving presentations and visualizing data from seasoned economics professionals join the Ottawa Economics Association (OEA) for a Presentation Skills 101 Event for students and young professional in the economics field on February 8, 2018. This event will also include time for informal networking and is made possible with funding support from the Canadian Association for Business Economics (CABE).
Event Information Date: February 8, 2018 Time: 5:30pm-8:00pm (Snacks and light refreshments will be provided) Location: Institute of Fiscal Studies and Democracy (IFSD), 115 Séraphin-Marion Pvt, Room 107, Ottawa Cost: OEA members: Free Non-members: $10 (plus HST)
Registration Please register through the online store by February 5, 2018. Registration is necessary as space is limited and may close earlier should the event reach capacity. Memberships may be purchased online in advance of the event. OEA memberships are available for $75.00 (incl. HST). The OEA also offers new professionals memberships for $40.00 and student memberships for $10.00 and (incl. HST). Members can attend OEA events at a discount, have early access to OEA workshops and are invited to OEA members-only receptions, providing our members with additional networking opportunities.
