APEBC Coffee Break in Victoria - Roundtable on Fiscal Sustainability with PBO 

The Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) will present their Fiscal Sustainability Report and their latest Economic and Fiscal Outlooks. In their latest report, the PBO is assesses the current federal fiscal policy to be sustainable over the long term, though some provincial governments, including BC, may need to make adjustments to debt and spending levels. The PBO will also discuss their projection for a significant contraction in residential investment and a deceleration in house prices through 2020.

About the Speaker:

Jason Jacques is the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Director of the Costing and Budgetary Analysis team. Prior to joining the PBO, he worked with various departments of the Government of Canada, including the Privy Council Office, Finance Canada, Treasury Board Secretariat and Bank of Canada.

Jason holds an MA in economics from Queen's University, is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CMA), and a CFA Charterholder.
