The Atlantic Association of Applied Economists (AAAE) is pleased to present The Early-Career Economists’ Panel 2018

Please come and support the next generation of economists as you enjoy some free pizza, chat with colleagues, and learn more about: rental affordability and core housing need in Nova Scotia, the drivers of nursing home usage, and new options for commercial property taxation.”

WHAT: Three regional economists will present their current research

WHO:

  • Katherine Ryan (Economist, Nova Scotia Department of Finance and Treasury Board): “Renters in Core Housing Need: A profile of tenant households and unaffordability in Nova Scotia”
  • Kenzie McNeil (Senior Consultant, Finance, Halifax Regional Municipality) “Commercial Property Tax in HRM: Theory and Practice”
  • Steve Patterson (Postdoctoral fellow, Nova Scotia Health Research Foundation):  "Factors associated with entering facility-based long-term care in Nova Scotia".

WHEN: Friday, December 14th, 2018, Noon to 1:45pm (Atlantic Standard Time)

WHERE: Bank of Canada Boardroom, Bank of Canada Regional Office, 13th Floor, 1701 Hollis St., (Founders Square), Halifax, Nova Scotia

CONFERENCE CALL: A conference call option is not available for this session.

COST: Members: Free, Non-Members: $10 (A light lunch will be provided)

REGISTRATION: Seating is limited and spaces will be reserved until we reach capacity. Visit the CABE Store to register for this event. You must register no later than 5pm Wednesday 12th December.  

Refunds cannot be provided for cancellations and individuals seeking to register after December 12th will be charged a late registration fee of $20. Late registration can be made at the CABE Store .
