While Vancouver's residential property market is in the midst of a slowdown, the city's commercial property markets remain solid. Both industrial and office vacancy rates in Vancouver are some of the lowest in the country supported by healthy demand fundamentals. But a significant new supply cycle is in the pipeline - how will this affect commercial market conditions and real estate investment prospects going forward.

About the Speaker

With over twenty years of business experience, Carl Gomez is a well-known Canadian economist and respected investment professional specializing in real estate. He is presently Senior Vice President, Research & Strategy for QuadReal Property group – a newly formed independent organization focused on managing and growing bcIMC’s portfolio of over $18 billion in real estate assets around the world. In his present role, Carl oversees portfolio strategy, research, and strategic market analysis for the company from both the fundamental and capital markets perspective. He and his wife Elizabeth, currently live in Oakville with their daughter Savannah.
