Federal Budget Review 2019


It is budget season again. We are entering the election season for the federal parties. This budget will establish many of the parameters for the upcoming contest. To shed light on issues addressed in the budget, TABE is very fortunate that Alison McDermott, Associate ADM - Economic and Fiscal Policy has consented to come down to provide some context to the budget.

About our speaker

McDermott Alison 2017 150

Alison McDermott joined the Department of Finance in July 2017 as Associate Assistant Deputy Minister of the Economic and Fiscal Policy Branch.  Previously she was Director General of the Science Programs and Partnerships branch of Innovation Science and Economic Development Canada, which manages federal investments in the higher education research sector.  Alison previously held positions within the Fiscal Policy Division of the Department of Finance, most recently as Senior Chief of Revenue and Expenditure Analysis and Forecasting, and at the Privy Council Office and Industry Canada, including its regional office in Halifax.
