With the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia posting consecutive billion dollar losses and consumers facing significant increases in annual premiums there has been much discussion about how to best provide auto insurance.
Join us for a discussion about the economics of auto insurance with David Marshall, one of Canada’s leading experts in the area. David will provide an overview of the different models for providing auto insurance and discuss some of the current issues that insurers in Canada are facing and options for addressing them.

Following David Marshall’s presentation on auto insurance will be the presentation of the Crystal Ball Award and the 2019 AGM.
About the Speaker
Mr. David Marshall has served in senior roles in Government and in the Finance Industry including appointments as Assistant Auditor General of Canada and a Deputy Minister in the Federal Government and Deputy Receiver General.
In business David has served as Vice Chairman of CIBC Bank and as a managing director in the Wall Street firm of Bankers Trust New York. He has also served as President and CEO of the WSIB where he is credited with turning this multi-billion dollar insurance organization from losing money to making surpluses.
As a diplomat, David was Canada’s Ambassador to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean
David has served as a senior advisor to the Government of Ontario on auto insurance and pension funds. He currently consults on financial management and auto insurance.
